Foundation Programme

Ongoing, weekly course on Buddhism and meditation. The course is suitable for anyone with serious interest in deepening their understanding of Buddhist meditation and wisdom.

Taster Sessions

Before you commit to the Foundation Programme you can begin by having three taster sessions. If you would like to arrange taster sessions contact us: or 01492 878778

The Benefits

The main benefits are:

·       Deeper understanding of the meditations

·       Structure to help establish a regular meditation practice

·       More support for your spiritual growth

·       An opportunity to discuss and ask questions

·       Help and support from other practitioners

·       Gain the ability to integrate Buddha’s teachings into our daily lives and solve all our human problems.

What to expect ~ In each class there are guided meditations, teachings on the book, and discussion in pairs. There are also discussion classes, where two students lead a group discussion. Periodically, there will be examinations to help deepen your knowledge of the book.

Like a college course there are some commitments, such as a little home-study each week, regular attendance and taking part in discussions.

When you join the Foundation Programme, you commit to studying one book. This can take differing lengths of time, depending on which book is being studied, and how far through we are.

This programme affords an opportunity to gain authentic experience of Dharma without abandoning our modern lifestyle.

Warm friendships develop as students inspire each other, sharing insights and experiences of the spiritual path.

We will be studying Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s extraordinary book ‘Meaningful to Behold’. By studying this book you will discover how to cultivate a loving and compassionate heart by transforming daily difficulties into the spiritual path.
