Drop in Class – no need to book

Drop in meditation classes are designed to help you to connect to inner peace and to overcome the stress and difficulties of daily life. Suitable for beginners and everyone is welcome.

Classes include: two guided meditations, a short talk on how to keep a peaceful mind whatever your circumstances and a chance to ask questions, followed by refreshments. This term this class will be taught by Richard Evans.


The Courses

TERM 1: Thursdays, August 31 – October 5

Overcoming Stress & Anxiety

Problems and difficult situations are not hard to come by! Without methods to keep a calm & peaceful mind, we are blown about by problems like a balloon in the wind. In this course, you will learn essential ways of recognising where daily stress and anxiety actually comes from, how it can be reduced and how it can be finally eliminated.

  • Meditation techniques to help you connect to inner peace
  • Practical solutions which you can put into practice straight-away
  • Methods to overcome your obstacles to happiness


TERM 2: Thursdays, October 26 – December 15

Living Mindfully

Mindfulness helps us to reduce our disturbing thoughts and distractions and to have a focused, clear and peaceful mind. By learning to be more mindful of how our thoughts and feelings are creating our reality, we can begin to gain mastery over our minds so we can transform our life.

The Book

This course will be based on Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s book, ‘How to Solve our Human Problems‘. A scientific exploration of the causes and solutions to our daily problems and difficulties, using Buddha’s teachings to change our world by changing our mind. Available at your class or from  Tharpa.com


The Teacher

This term this class will be taught by Richard Evans.

Richard is the Education Programme Coordinator at Kalpa Bhadra Kadampa Buddhist Centre. He is a dedicated student of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, and has been teaching meditation for five years.
